これまで、普通にやってきたコミュニケーション。人が集い、音楽を楽しみ、食事をともにして、会話し合う、心をいためている人の手を握ることすらも、大事な人をいたわったり、ハグすることさえも、マスクや、アクリルのカーテンによって、そういうつながりを遮るのが当たり前のような、そんな規制があっという間に、世界標準になろうとしています。もちろん、そういうことを全否定はしません。しかし一方で、私達のそういう選択は、果たして正しいと言い切れるのでしょうか？

そんな中、Band-Maidがリリースした「about Us」は、私達に大切なメッセージを届けてくれました。彼女たちはファンとの関係のみならず、私がさっき書いたような想いに対しても、示唆をくれたように思います。少なくとも、私にとっては、単に好きなロックを演奏し歌ってくれる彼女らへのリスペクトだけでなく、彼女らが世界に「はたらきかけ」、多くの人々を元気づけたいという純粋で志の高い想いと行動、それこそが、まさにMannerに満ちたBand-Maidだということを実感します。やはり、彼女たちは「今の世界」に光る宝のような存在です。

心から、ありがとう。Band-Maid Journeyは、まだまだ続きます。

みなさん、あけましておめでとうございます。2020年にはじまった、わたしにとってのBand-Maidの旅をふりかえりつつ、この番組に集まってくださっている、Mr.B をはじめ、多くのリスナーの皆様に感謝をこめて、お話をしています。そして、Band-Maidに興味を持ち始めた皆様にもよびかけています。パンデミックの不安がまだまだ残り、世界中、不安や閉塞感にわずらわされています。もちろん、無理はする必要はありませんが、なんとか目の前のハードルを越えるべく、わたしたち、おとながまず、勇気をもって道を切り開くことも大切です。そんな私達に、エネルギーをくれて、一歩踏み出してみようという思いを気づかせてくれる、ロックスター、すなわちBand-Maidです。このすばらしい彼らが、私にとても良い機会をくれました。誰にとっても、明日は「まだ見ぬ世界」すなわち、彼らが、2021年の初めにリリースするアルバムのタイトル「Unseen World」そのものです。不安もあって当然ですが、それと同じだけのポジティブな、何かも期待していいのだと思います。どうやら、私も「鳩の穴」にしっかりとはまってしまったようです。パンデミックを克服して、良い明日をつくりましょう。私達の次の世代のために。

Happy new year, everyone. Looking back on my “Band-Maid Journey” that began in 2020, I would like to thank Mr. B and many other listeners for gathering for this program. We are also calling on everyone who has begun to be interested in “Band-Maid”. Pandemic anxiety still remains, and the world is suffering from anxiety and a sense of obstruction. Of course, don’t be overly cowardly or distrustful. It is also important for us adults to courageously show our children the way to overcome the hurdles in front of us.
